We are the Creative KIDS Company and we do plays, classes, choirs and clubs for KIDS who are interested in performing and the arts. Whether a KID yearns to be in the lights, or to run the lights we have a place for them.


INTO THE WOODS A Creative KIDS Company Production. Stephen Sondheim’s famous musical comedy about Happily ever after. Auditions Jan 5 & 6 at 4:00 PM, Jan 8 at 10:00 AM (Bring current photo. Bang, Bang You’re Dead! Creative KIDS Company’s Teen Anti-Violence Play. Auditions Mon, May 1 at 4:00 PM, Tues, May 2 at 4:00 PM (Bring current photo. Open to Grades 7-12). Performances the Week of May 22-26. We will be taking this play to the schools & presenting at least two public performances. This is a dramatic play and will take extra intense rehearsal & commitment from the teens involved.

Alice in Wonderland A Missoula Children’s Theatre Production sponsored by the Orphan Girl. Do a show in a week! Auditions Mon, Jan 17 - 3:30 PM (No preparation necessary. For grades K-12) Performances Jan 22 at 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM. Performed at the Mother Lode Theatre


Hang lights, build sets, design make-up, build costumes, run box office… the list goes on and on. Tech Auditions will be held for each production. Only graduates of our tech classes will fill leadership positions, but the tech crew is open to beginners as well as advanced students. Techies must audition to be on the crew. The tech crew auditions do not need to prepare singing pieces.


Can’t afford plastic surgery? A class about noses? Really! NOSES 101! Sam DeBree will be teaching an intro to prosthetics & special effects make-up! Students will cast, mold, pour & apply their own new nose. The class meets December 27 – 30. Pick one session: 10-Noon or 2-4 PM. Limited class size. Only $50 and that includes all the supplies. For 5th -12th graders. Adult class offered on demand. REGISTER EARLY!

4A Class - Acquire Amazing Auditioning Adeptness! Want to learn some tricks of the trade? Robert Wood, a theatre director from Billings, will teach this workshop in audition techniques. Students in grades 4-12 can enroll. Students need to bring all of the Class Needs listed below. This will be a great class for the beginner or the advanced student of theatre. Robert has directed numerous plays in Billings, including The Music Man, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Crazy for You, and Wizard of Oz to name a few. The class meets over Winter Break - December 27 – 29 from 2-5 PM and costs $35. Class size is limited so register early. (Students wishing to take Noses and 4A need to sign up for Sam’s morning class.)

5A ClassAcquire Amazing Advanced Auditioning Adeptness! Advanced audition techniques for students who may want to explore the world of professional and collegiate theatre. Robert Wood, from Billings, will teach this workshop in advanced audition techniques. Students in grades 7th –12th can apply. Students must have completed at least one acting course at the Orphan Girl Theatre, have acted in at least two shows and write a letter of application. The letter should answer the questions: "Why am I serious about theatre?" and "What has theatre done for my life?" 10 Students will be chosen by Robert to complete the course. The class meets on December 27th – 29th from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. and costs $50. Students should prepare the same Class Needs listed above, plus a musical audition piece (16 measures). Students will also schedule a coaching time with Robert for one of the evenings of the class. (Students wishing to take Noses and Audition need to sign up for Sam’s morning class.)

Audition Class Needs (1) a copy of a short reading (less than 1 minute of a monologue from a play, book, or movie). (2) a notebook and a pencil. (3) 2 blank tapes and a recording device with an external microphone. (4) a resume of all you have done in theatre or the arts (just a list of all of the plays, recitals, reviews, lessons, and anything else you have done that will help you be great in a play.)


Creative KIDS Company Choirs

Auditions: Auditions for both Swingtime Choirs are Thursday, January 13 at 3:30 pm, Friday, January 14 3:30 pm, and Saturday, January 15 2:00 p.m. Please prepare a 16 measure a’ cappella audition piece and be ready to learn a simple dance combination.

Swingtime Choir Jr. The Jr. Choir meets on Fridays at 3:30 p.m. This select choir will learn swing, jazz and ragtime music for concerts and some bookings. All songs are choreographed. Grades 1st – 8th are open to audition. This Choir includes much instructional time, and costs $60.

Swingtime Choir Sr. -The Sr. Choir meets on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. This select choir will learn swing, jazz and ragtime music for concerts and some bookings. All songs are choreographed. Grades 9th – 12th are open to audition. This Choir includes much instructional time, and costs $60.


Mix’d Nutz Com.edy Our own IMPROVISATIONAL Comedy Team! Every Friday at 6:00 (unless there is another performance in the OGT that night!) we practice our improv skills and games. We will perform once a month for the public. Crazy and Fun for the not-so-shy! Comedy Club costs $5 per month.

Swingkids Choir Club -- The Choir Club meets every other week. (Day to be announced) This choir will learn to sing swing, jazz and ragtime music for a concert. Choir will learn basic singing skills and songs will include basic swing dance moves. This choir is open to students in grades 1st – 12th. Choir Club costs $10 per month. Fee is payable in advance for two month time commitment.

Financial Aid is available. To receive an application for "Our So-Called Scholarship Fund" call Lynn at 723-2300. Tuition scholarships, and parent work exchange scholarships are both available.

Payment Payment in full by cash or check is required by the first class meeting. There is a $20.00 non-refundable deposit required by one week prior to the first class date, to reserve a class space. Payment plans and sibling discounts are available.
Pro-Rating – There is NO pro-rating for missed classes.

Refunds – Students withdrawing at least 24 hours before the first class receive a full refund minus the $25.00 deposit. Students withdrawing before the second class receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after the second class.
Waiting List – A first-come, first-served waiting list will be kept for all fully-registered classes.

Plays – All plays are open auditions, with no preference in casting given to members of the theatre, cast members of prior productions or graduates of our classes. Each play in the Orphan Girl Theatre will require $10 fee for those selected to perform in the play. (There is NO fee to audition.) Some plays may require a deposit as well. Payment plans and sibling discounts are available.

We rely on the time and talent of our numerous adult volunteers. While KIDS do most of the crew work (costumes, lights, sets, etc.) we talented adults to work with them. We also need adults for numerous committees (publicity, reading, house, tech…) If you love theatre and love KIDS, we would love to talk to you. We at the Creative KIDS Company (some of us OLDER kids) can offer classes in acting, directing or technical theatre for adults. These classes are offered periodically and on demand.
